Day of Transit - 10.19

Stopping for a while at Suzhou, got some local specialties. Date/pine nuts pastry tasted yummy in the morning, marinaded dried tofu tasteless, black sesame flake candy ok.

Taxi 20y to aunt's place, nice long shower, charge batteries. My uncle had the day off and they cooked up 7 dishes that were very good and very sumptuous. Dried bamboo, SH vegies, chicken broth, etc. We biked to get some food but found no preserved prunes for me.

Rushed to airport shuttle at 1:50, 18y got us to PVG at 3:10, paid the 400Y ticket change fee. Checked my backpack top flap for the just the multi-knife and nail clipper. Horrible arrangement at gate, with multiple flights sharing gate. Pushing shoving through the gate only got us on a bus, which took a wrong turn and dropped at a far field. Even more pushing shoving to get on at another boarding check which was totally pointless, why couldn't they do all the boarding pass check at once!

In CD called hostel and settled on Holly's. Airport shuttle. Walked in a circle at a huge intersection (CD streets are very wide) to find the right bus #1 to hostel. My first double decker, upper deck wasn't as fun as I thought. Saw room, washroom, shower, dorm room with private bath, settled on room with no bath for 70 (pre-bargain 80). Very damp, cool, but clean. Syl went to check internet, I konked out.

Suzhou food 15. Taxi 20Y. Snacks ~12Y. Airport shuttle 18. Ticket change 400. Airport shuttle 10. Bus 1 1Y. Holly hotel double no shower night 1 70Y. Key deposite 50Yx2.
